Although HECM borrowers don’t have to make monthly payments, they can wind up in default and at risk of foreclosure. Join us for a detailed discussion of the four big issues that can result in default — property taxes, insurance, repairs, and occupancy — and the possible solutions that are available to the homeowner and the servicer to avoid foreclosure. Even if you don’t do default counseling yourself, it’s wise to understand and inform your HECM borrowers about the potential pitfalls that homeowners can experience when they have a reverse mortgage.

NOTE: A PayPal account is NOT required. To pay without a PayPal account, click on the credit card icons. After entering your credit card details, click the on/off button where it says to “Create my PayPal account for purchase protection”, which is in the ON position by default. After that you put it in the OFF position, you can complete your credit card payment by clicking Pay Now. Once you submit payment, a receipt window will pop up. Be sure to print this if you need a receipt for your payment! You may register more than one counselor from your agency with one payment ($80 per attendee) by selecting the number of registrations you are purchasing, using the dropdown box to the left of the PayPal button below.
