This course is designed for counselors who are planning to take the HECM exam for the first time, or for those who have been away from HECM counseling for a period of time and would like an update and refresher. Over a four-week period, participants will have the opportunity to review:
- HECM basics,
- Loan costs, amortization, and long-term effects
- Special topics including non-borrowing spouse, HECM for Purchase, HECM refinance, and HECM default, and
- HECM counseling requirements.
Class size will be limited, and topics may be tailored to participants’ needs. For best results, participants should plan for time to study on their own between classes. Tuition includes four 3-hour Zoom-based classes and access to a full-length practice exam for pre-testing and progress evaluation.
